Frequently Asked Questions for face painting

Below you will find some frequently asked questions I receive from many of my clients. I have tried to answer all of your questions and concerns, however, if you still can’t find what you’re looking for,  send me a quick email.

  • Is there a minimum booking time?
    Yes, 2 hours is the minimum booking time. I can only provide 1 hour bookings if your party is within 1 mile to Clapton E5
  • Is it cheaper to contact you direct?
    Yes, it is cheaper to book directly through my website. If you book through Add to Event or Poptop platforms they charge additional fees, which increases the overall cost. By booking directly through the website, you can save money and admin time.
  • How many faces can you paint?
    I can paint 20 faces in 2 hours. To get the best results without rushing the children, I recommend more time if your party consists of more than 20, otherwise the designs will be reduced to enable me to paint everyone within the time limit. Extra time can be decided at the party and is charged at £30 per half hour (subject to availability)
  • Cancellations and Refunds
    I understand that sometimes things come up and plans change. If you need to cancel your booking, my refund policies are as follows: - 100% refund if cancelled 1 month before the party. - 50% refund if cancelled 2 weeks before the party. - 20% refund if cancelled 48 hours before the party. - No refund if cancelled 12 hours before the party. Alternatively, you can postpone your booking to any date within 1 year from the original booking date, without any additional charges. Please let me know by email as soon as possible if you need to cancel or postpone your booking.
  • What days do you work?
    This is my full time business so everyday is available. Weekends tend to get booked 4-6 weeks in advance, especially between 1-4pm so you might want to consider morning parties for children.
  • Do I need to provide anything?
    Yes, please kindly provide a medium size table & 2 chairs to work from. If your party is outside a canopy/gazebo for protection from wind, rain or extreme heat. I travel by public transport so I can’t carry these items and my kit. Thank you!
  • Covid19
    Should I contract Covid19 I will inform you immediately. I'll try to source out another face painter for you that I trust. If no-one can be found I will refund your payment in full.
  • What are your working hours?
    Daily hours are from 9am - 5pm Evening hours are from 5pm - 9pm (rates are slightly higher for evening times)
  • How do I book?
    Bookings are made via email. By completing the form in the Check Dates page. I'll email you a quote for your party and if you accept the quote, I'll email you the invoice. Payment is to be made within 3 days. Once that’s received I’ll email to say you’re 100% booked in. All monies received will be automatically confirmed. Once paid your date is secured in my calendar and I will make myself unavailable to any other potential clients enquiring about your date. Bookings are made on a first come first served basis. Please add info@facepaintfx.com and terripacemakeup@gmail.com to your contacts list to help prevent important emails going to your spam/junk folder - Thank you.
  • Why do you need to pay in advance?
    I require payment in advance to secure your booking date and time. By paying in full at the time of booking, it cuts down on admin and you won't have to worry about deposits or follow-up payment reminders. Plus, you can enjoy the birthday cake moment without any embarrassing money exchanges. Once your payment is processed, you'll receive an automatic confirmed receipt. I will arrive at your party, set up in 5 minutes and start painting.
  • Are the paints safe on the skin?
    Yes, they have antibacterial agents in and are specifically designed for use on the skin. I can provide a list of ingredients upon request if you are concerned. Face paints are not recommended for children under 2 years or for anyone who has sensitivity/excema/chicken pox/lice or other skin issues. A general Health & Safety document will be sent to every client.
  • How do I pay for my FacepaintFX booking?
    Payment is to be made by bank transfer within 3 days of the invoice date to my Monzo business account. Please note that your booking date is open to others if payment is not received within that time. Bookings are made on a first come, first serviced basis.
